For the Children of Israel, the Passover is a period of reflection, celebration, and a time to remember how God saved his people from slavery in Egypt.
For Christians, it's an opportunity to remember what Jesus did for us when he came to earth to bring salvation to many through going to the cross.
As Christian moms, we long for our children to truly understand the Bible—not just the stories, but the God behind those stories. One of the most powerful ways we can help them learn is through hands-on activities that make Scripture come alive.
Today's, blog post explores the Exodus Passover through my Passover Story Wheel for kids.
Our Passover Story Wheel is —a fun craft that helps teach kids about Passover in a way that's both engaging and hands-on. With this fun Passover story wheel craft, kids can really get how God was so faithful to His people in Egypt and understand how that same faithfulness is right here with us today.
Introducing the Passover Story Wheel
The Passover Story Wheel is a fun kids' craft that's designed to make learning about Passover both engaging and memorable for kids. It serves as an interactive way to connect children to the story of God's rescue plan and His faithfulness.

God’s People Needed Rescue
The Passover begins in the book of Exodus, when God’s people, the Israelites, had been living in Egypt for a long time. Over the years, they were forced into slavery, working hard, and mistreated.
The people cried out to God—and He heard them.
God chose a man named Moses to go to Pharaoh (the king of Egypt) and say, “Let my people go.” But Pharaoh kept saying no. He was stubborn and didn’t want to lose his workers. So God sent plagues—miraculous signs—to show Pharaoh His power and that He meant what He said.
The Plagues: God's Power on Display

God sent frogs, flies, darkness, hail, and more. These weren’t just random disasters—they were God's way of getting Pharaoh's attention and showing that He alone is in control.
Even though these signs were powerful, Pharaoh's heart stayed hard. So God sent one last, very serious plague: the death of every firstborn son in Egypt.
But even in this, God made a way for His people to be safe.

The Blood on the Doorposts: A Sign of Protection
God told the Israelites to take the blood of a spotless lamb and put it on the doorframes of their homes. That night, when the Lord saw the blood, He would "pass over" those homes and protect everyone inside.
This moment is where we get the word Passover. It was God’s way of marking His people and covering them with His protection. The Israelites obeyed—and they were safe.
That same night, Pharaoh finally let them go. And Moses led them out of Egypt, out of slavery, and into freedom.
Understanding God's Rescue Plan
The story of the Passover is more than just history. It’s a picture—a foreshadowing—of what Jesus would one day do for us.
Just as God rescued His people through the blood of a lamb, He rescues us through the blood of Jesus, the perfect Lamb of God. While the world calls it Easter, we know the heart of the celebration is the Resurrection of Jesus—His victory over sin and death.
When we share this story with our kids, we’re not just teaching about Egypt—we’re showing them how God has always had a plan to save His people, and that plan is fulfilled in Jesus.
Tying these events to everyday life by letting your kids have fun with the Passover Wheel Craft, shows them how God’s rescue plan is for the people in Bible times and for us today.
